Black and White

Posted in: Photography

I haven’t had much time to play with my camera since I got to Denver, but I managed to get a few shots this weekend. I miss it, need to find time to get out more often (like most things I’m interested in these days).

Most of the shots are of an old school a few blocks from me. I spotted the ‘Downtown Hobbies’ store on one of my first drives through downtown but hadn’t had a chance to get the shot until this week. I knew these shots would be best in black and white before I took them - something I haven’t done too much of in the past.

Where in Denver is this? I’ve been around the DU area, but that’s about it.

I think I could move there.

The school is a few blocks from the capital building. The hobbies store is right in the heart of downtown, behind a parking lot.

The columns shot is great. Makes me think to the ‘Twelve Monkeys’ movie with Bruce Willis, when he gets outside to get some samples and sees a bear.

First time posting here. I lived in Denver for six months last year and will likely be moving back in a year. I recognized those locations before you even posted about them. Very nice shots.

Thanks yann - I haven’t seen that movie, I’ll have to put it on the list.

Hi Leonard, glad to have you here - I’m planning to do some shooting around the capital building next, lots of great material there.
