Does anyone know a way to make those little “you are now connected to the xxx wireless network” bubbles (that appear from the Windows system tray) go away quickly and on their own (or not even show up at all)?

I stumbled across the real answer to this while upgrading the driver for my Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG, which I think the 700m has as well. Go to the “Intel PROSet Wireless” application, then “Application Settings” and uncheck “Show Information Notifications”.
