After a year of playing Mario Kart a few minutes a day, a couple days a week I’ve finally gotten pretty decent at it. I think it’s time for me to move on to another game, and I think I’d enjoy a similar racing game.

Besides, personal recommendations are a lot better than some random popularity ranked list.
Mario Kart is/was fantastic! One of my personal favorites, and reason I keep OS 9 around is for Carmageddon 1 + 2. Excellent physics, quite old, but awesome network playability with others…
Alex, you’re a developer, how do we get these people to release their old code so people who love the old stuff can make this game run natively in OS X and/or make it public, like they did with that old 3D game called Descent? I’m not sure who owns the code now. I’ve emailed 2 possibilities, but no response. =( I just hate to see such a good thing die.
You should get a DS and get Mario Kart for that. I love it, online play is fantastic too. If you do go for a DS, wait a couple months for the lite version.
I had the same thing, but then I got my girlfriend a DS with Mario Kart DS.. and I ended up getting hooked again. Mario Kart DS is totally different in style to Mario Kart Super Circuit and it took me a little while to get good at it again.
Perhaps… as much as I use it I’m not sure I could justify buying another player.
Its definitely a great game in single player, but with multiplayer its fantastic! I hear online play is good also.
I love Mario Kart on my DS. We are a few people at work who play multiplayer games quite often, and it’s really really fun
So I recommend getting a DS and continue playing Mario Kart!
Mario Kart is the best! I agree that I’ve played the heck out of it for a long time, but I never seem to get sick of it
I don’t think your going to find better than mario kart in terms of racing games so maybe you should get a DS and play it on that…truley addictive
