After reading about Are you a big fish? on Mark’s blog I dutifully went over and did my standard ego searches.
The results were a little interesting. For example, ‘alexking.org’ is decidedly a little fish - a “Tiny Lil Guppy” to be precise:
Certified Backlinks.
Site Class:Are you a Big Fish?
On the other hand, ‘www.alexking.org’ is definitely a big fish - a “Humoungous Sailfish”:
Certified Backlinks.
Site Class:Are you a Big Fish?
Not combining links from ‘www.’1 and the root domain is generally a mistake in these situations, and should be pretty easy to fix. I hope they fix it.
- Transitioning all ‘www.alexking.org’ links to ‘alexking.org’ links is something I plan to do when I roll out a new version of this site. [back]

Yay for the impending death of www. on ak.o.
That said, I haven’t run the analysis on my site(s), because … multiple domains does hurt me. [Like I care. :)]

Ah, but are you a “red” herring or a “read” herring?
More on your domain fishiness as an example.
