- Mobile Web Bad, Mobile Data Good? - I agree with much of this.
- Hosting: VPS hosting done right - Slicehost.com - I expect to be learning more about this and EC2 in 2008.
- Are smaller screens better?-Speedymac - I can’t agree with this, but I will note that I only consider my laptop usable with multiple desktops (I use You Control Desktops, tried Spaces and couldn’t stand the transitions).

Yes, yes, yes.
I also agree with Om’s post on mobile data. I read the Web a whole hell of a lot more on my iPhone than I ever did on my Treo, and both devices are on EDGE.
And as for the screensize thing, I’m with you … give me more real estate! I’m thinking about a Macbook for spring, and I’ll probably go as large as I can with it. [After purposefully going for small size with the 12″ iBook I bought just before Apple phased them out.]

I’ve used Slicehost for a few of the Rails apps I’ve deployed for clients in the past and for Flash video hosting for another. After a few hiccups and growing pains early, they’ve been quite solid for us. Their control panel is great in its simplicity and their support is great, in my experience. I’ve been debating moving my own sites to one of their slices too…

Slicehost is a pretty strong contender in my search for a VPS host. Feature-wise (RAM/Disk/Bandwidth), they’re pretty much in line with the competitors at a similar price point. But I really like their no-nonsense approach to the SLA question. Many people want the false-comfort afforded by an SLA. But in real life, and SLA is just words with no force behind them.
I haven’t completely made up my mind yet, but I’ll probably be posting a summary of my comparison sometime soon.
