Twitter Addiction

Posted in: Technology

I wanted to post this to Twitter last night:

Thoroughly baffled by the 1-2 emails I get complaining that WP Mobile doesn’t auto-detect the iPhone. Isn’t the “real web” the idea here?

but Twitter was down.

Twitter Down

I checked again this morning and it was still down.

So then I wanted to bitch about Twitter being down, but… how do you post to Twitter that Twitter is down?

Heh.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve stopped using Twitter. The service goes down for maintenance more often than any other online service I’ve ever used and they never stick to the announced maintenance schedule.

I can live with the downtimes - I mean, they’re giving me a useful, entertaining tool for zero cost to me, so while I can be frustrated for the downtimes, well, I’m still coming out on the profit end of the equation.

That being said, Alex, I was asking myself the same question yesterday. Seems like a waste of blog space to use my real blog to complain about Twitter downtime.

Twitter is one of those services I’ve been thinking about getting into - finally realizing how it would be useful to me now that the hype has dissipated. Unfortunately all I ever hear about it at this point is when it goes down.

Now I’m not so sure developing a Twitter habit would be good…

Guess I’m hooked on Twitter, but not addicted. I don’t get withdrawals when it is down. It is a wonderful way to publish mini-blogs that will also be published on multiple pages at multiple sitesvat the same time. Yep, I’m hooked on Twitter!
