  1. Around the web

A wide-screen view for NetNewsWire. I’ve been using it and loving it. I think this idea for a column view has promise as well. Now for a bunch of baseball links… Quoth the Raven, McLemore? Aaron Gleeman looks at Johan Santana’s production so far this year. I picked up Santana on my fantasy baseball team…

  2. Pure CSS Form Layout?

I’ve been doing a lot of reading about pure CSS layouts and semantic documents. I like everything about it except how hard it is to make the darn thing look right across browsers/browser versions. In particular, I’ve had trouble finding a good way to replace tables for doing form layout (for example, the edit form…

  3. Multi-User Dev

I’ve started working on some of the multi-user features that will appear in the 3.0 version of tasks. One of the things I needed to do was figure out how to handle iCalendars for each user. Having individual files brings up a bunch of problems. I’ve created a PHP feed, setting the content-type, etc… but…

  4. IE Problems

Seems that I broke something in tasks 1.7.x. The JavaScript to expand tasks (perhaps all JavaScript controls are broken? reports have been inconsistent) doesn’t seem to work anymore on Windows IE. No errors show up in the Mozilla JavaScript console and I won’t have access to a PC to look at this until next week.…

  5. Back from Vacation

I’m back from our RV trip to Utah. We went through Zion, Bryce, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. This was my first trip through this part of the county and the landscapes are stunning! I took a TON of photos – I’ll post some when I get a chance to finish going through them all.…

  6. A Deluge of E-mail

I’m still on vacation, but we’re back in civilization so I checked e-mail and voicemail… 423 new e-mails (plus another 300 in the spam folder). I’ll be working through the backlog; if I haven’t replied to something you sent me yet, this is why. Thanks for being patient.

  7. Around the web

Adam Rice has an idea why spammers are using random real e-mail addresses (like mine or yours) as the From address in their SPAM. Bill Lovett has written an article on databases that I apparently helped inspire.

  8. 300,000 Visits

Sometime during the day, my site received its 300,000th visit – less than two months since I had my 200,000th visit. Thanks to everyone for stopping by and helping this little site grow.

  9. 4.0.1 Visible Debugging Code

I forgot to hide the hidden iframe after debugging the broken transaction support bug. The good news is, this is easy for you to fix in your own copy (or you can just download a new one, it’s fixed). Open up ‘load_folder.php’ and look at line #5 and #6. // $iframe = ‘<iframe src=”load.php… $iframe…

  10. If the season ended today…

If the baseball season ended today, I’d win half of my Royals bet with T-bone. AL Central W L Pct GB Chi White Sox 67 61 .523 — Minnesota 66 61 .520 0.5 Kansas City 65 61 .516 1.0 Now if the Royals can just drop below .500, I’m all set. 🙂 Aaron has a…

  11. photos 4.0.1 released

I’ve released photos 4.0.1. This is a bug fix release: Search bug: Need Details = No returned an incorrect result. Search bug: Last modified range search was broken. Transaction support (unsave after hitting cancel while adding a folder) is fixed. Page title is correct while navigating between pages in the Portfolio. No matter how many…
