  1. Waiting…

I ordered mine a week before Adam did1, but he got his today and I’m still waiting for mine to ship. It was supposed to ship “by” today, but doesn’t look like it did. No e-mail yet notifying me of a delay either… frustrating. The only reason I can think of that he got higher…

  2. Mozilla Makes Dell Sleepy?

My Dell 700m is ususally in “hibernation” when I need it. I’ve found that if I leave Firefox (especially Firefox) or Thunderbird open when I let the machine go into standby (and then into hibernation), it will take up to 5-8 minutes to wake up. If I remember to close Firefox and Thunderbird first before…

  4. WP Plugged In 1.5.2 Updated

I’ve updated my WP Plugged In 1.5.2 release to include a few files that were missing from the original download. This also includes a version of WP Photos that is nearly a true plugin. Download is available on my WordPress page.

  5. Random Tip

Those little barcode stickers that are on everything you get from Crate and Barrel (like new drinkware) come right off if you soak them in hot water for a few minutes. Trying to get them off any other way is a real bear.

  6. Adam’s Quad Shipped

Adam’s PowerMac G5 Quad – the exact same configuration I ordered a week earlier than he did – has shipped. Mine still says it’s slated to ship by Nov 21 (his originally said it would ship by Nov 28). Perhaps his order got higher priority because it was a direct employee purchase instead of a…

  7. RSS Ads

I’ve been beta testing the Yahoo Publisher Network ads here on my site for the last few months. This evening I logged in to check how they are doing and noticed they added RSS ads as well. Pretty nice set-up, it generates code for WordPress or Moveable Type and has good installation instructions. Anyway, I…

  8. Ship Date Nov. 21?

My new development machine is supposed to ship Nov. 211, though I won’t be terribly surprised if this gets pushed out. Has anyone read about the ship dates for the PowerMac G5 Quads? Would actually be nice to have the long weekend to get it set up. [back]

  9. Desktop or Laptop?

I recently went through the desktop vs. laptop decision process, a process which I explained yesterday to a friend of mine who is considering purchasing a new machine. John Gruber outlined his throughts on the topic quite nicely in a post I linked to in my Around the web post yesterday. John often does a…

  10. Tracking Customizations

One of my Tasks customers asked if I had any advice for tracking customizations he makes to Tasks in some organized fashion. I don’t actually customize my software (I use it as it ships), but I do customize WordPress, PunBB, etc. – here is what I do: Let’s say I want to edit the themes/index.php…

  12. Tasks Pro™ 1.6b5 and Tasks 2.6b2

I’ve released Tasks Pro™ 1.6 beta 5 and Tasks 2.6 beta 2. These releases fix bugs found and reported in the previous beta versions. These should be pretty stable – I expect the next releases to be release candidates. Changes in both Tasks Pro™ and Tasks: Changed the upgrade script so that it works with…
