  1. Path Finder 4.6 →

A new release of Path Finder (4.6) is out. It looks like the web site is only partially updated so far, but the download is updated and that’s the important thing. I’ve been beta testing this version and it’s quite nice. If you’re a Mac user, you should really be using Path Finder.

  2. Share This 1.2

I’ve put up a new release of Share This, which has a few pretty good changes/bug fixes: Clicking the Share This link will hide the form if it is open. Don’t show the Share This link in the feeds. Titles with apostrophes work properly. Don’t show the Share This link in the mobile interface (if…

  3. %27 = ‘ in JavaScript Strings?

Patrick kindly took the time to let me know about an issue with my Share This plugin for WordPress: apostrophes/single-quotes in post titles break things. The thing is, the string looks fine in the source. The title: This title’s got an apostrophe is turned into: This+title%27s+got+an+apostrophe just as I’d intended. What I didn’t realize was…

  4. Monkeywrench

So yeah, the whole “pull the hard drives out of the machine and drive them somewhere to have folks try to salvage the data from them” thing has definitely put a monkeywrench in my plans for this week. It’s now unlikely I’ll get my new releases of Tasks Pro™ and Tasks out this week, among…

  5. Logitech S 530 – Bad First Impression

My Logitech S 530 keyboard and mouse arrived today as expected. I plugged them in and they worked straight away – so far so good. Then I downloaded and installed the drivers – that is when the problems started. I configured the drivers after the required reboot, and about a minute later the machine froze…

  6. Link Blog Changes

I’ve updated some of the link blog functionality on this site, changing the icon and standardizing1 the “#” internal link and “visit site” external link at the bottom of each item: What do you think, is it an improvement? Shows the same on the web site and in the RSS feed. [back]

  7. claimID

Chris Messina pointed me to claimID, an interesting service that allows you to gather your various accounts (Flickr del.icio.us, etc.) into a single public list of “verified” identities. My claimID profile is here – I haven’t verified all of the sites/accounts I’ve added yet, and I’ve probably forgotten a half dozen sites/accounts I should add,…

  8. BerryGoogler →

BerryGoogler does for web search on the Blackberry what Berry411 does for local information, making key web reference sources fast to access and easy to use.

If it’s anywhere near as good as Berry411, you’re going to want this.

  9. Shopping Online vs. Brick and Mortar

I mentioned a few days ago that I was interested in getting a new keyboard and mouse. Through my own research and the comments on that post, the Logitech S 530 seems like the best fit for me. Normally, I just buy tech stuff online (from Amazon when I can), but a keyboard and mouse…

  10. Around the web

The Top Ten Things I Love Most About Woz A missionary position for the Democrats. – By William Saletan – Slate Magazine I thought this was pretty funny until I saw this one iPod Video a Flop? Plus, Our Field Test on Tiny Video Watching Announcing Berry411 3.6: Find what’s best in your city Psychology…

  11. Orkut = Hassle

Like lots of folks, I signed up for Friendster and Orkut accounts back in the day. I didn’t really get it then, and I still don’t really get it now – but that’s not the point of this post. Orkut has become a nearly daily hassle for me as Orkut “members” add their spam links…

  12. Plaxo

Now that I’ve got my calendar sync set-up solved by switching to Google Calendar, I just needed a sync solution for my contacts. Matt pointed to Plaxo for this a little while back, so I set up an account and was all sync’ed up a few minutes later. Very nice. So now I’ve got a…

  13. Snap Previews

I noticed Matt using Snap previews – pretty nice. I figured they’d be especially handy for my WordPress Themes page, as folks have asked for screenshots of the themes for a while now. I’ve implemented this on just my WordPress themes and styles pages for now. The only drawback seems to be pretty slow server…
