I also updated my Popularity Contest plugin for WordPress while building alexking.org v2. Significant changes include:
- Support for recording page activity (page specific reports will be added after WP 2.1 is released)
- Added a [?] link (optional) to explain the ‘Popularity: 27%’ that is displayed
- Added a hook for other plugins to conditionally change when the popularity % is displayed (for example, I don’t show popularity for link blog posts)
- Use defined variables for options so that they can be defined in other plugins – easier upgrading and no editing required. If this makes no sense to you, then ignore it.
The updated download is available on my WordPress Plugins page.
If you have any trouble with this, please open a thread in the WP Support Forums and send me the link.
