  1. Annual Expirations

I already create new iCalendars every year to make archiving and syncing simple, now I’m considering doing the same for e-mail addresses. I wonder how much less SPAM I’d get if I only kept each address for a year.

  2. The Missing Sync for Blackberry, Mac OS X →

Whenever I use a sync tool for the first time I always back everything up on the desktop and set the sync tool to overwrite everything on the device. I wonder if those steps would have saved Eric some of the trouble he experienced. I’ve been mightily disappointed by PocketMac as well and Mark/Space has a great track record with OS X and sync – probably time to switch.

  3. Twitterrific 2

Twitterrific 2 is a fantastic upgrade to Twitterrific. If you haven’t already, grab the public beta (I’m alexkingorg on Twitter). Here are the settings I use1: And here is the result: The “expand when focused” list is a brilliant interface for Twitter updates, I’m encouraging Kevin to adopt it for Tiny Twitter. Make sure to…

  4. urlTea: The Dilemma

Chris has been pushing urlTea as an alternative URL shortening service; and with good reason: It offers semantic shortened URLs It has some nice APIs However, I’m concerned about the most important aspect of urlTea shortened URLs: longevity. Don’t get me wrong – I love what urlTea is trying to do, but I am forced…

  5. Opening the Door

Our pup used to get somewhat stymied when the door to her crate was closed, but sometime in the last few months she learned to open the door so she can get inside. Smart girl. 🙂 We still have her go in the crate when we leave, but we keep the door open and she…

  6. Comment License 1.0

A couple of people have asked me to make a plugin of the comment license terms I’ve added to the comment form on my web site. Here y’all go. Comment License shows a license with terms of your choosing in your comments form. You can edit the terms of your license in the options page.…

  7. Twitter Client Request

To everyone developing cool Twitter client applications, I have a couple of requests: Give me an option of hiding @username tweets if the username in question is not in my friends list. Make the @username in the tweet a link to said username’s twitter page so I can easily see what the response is to…

  8. Around the web

The Architect and Builder Dilemma – I’ve done this by doing a mini-project to create a project plan before launching into development. McCain’s Troubling HIV Answer – I’m really disappointed at the “what am I supposed to say here?” guy that McCain seems to have become. 90% of my blogging is now on Twitter… –…

  9. More on Tumblelogs

Folks have asked me why I don’t use some of the features of Twitter Tools; like the “tweet on new blog posts” feature, the “new post from tweet” feature or the “daily digest” feature. The answer is my tumblelog. I don’t think it’s the role of my blog to wrap up everything I do online,…

  10. alexking.info, Powered by Tumblr

I’ve seen a bit of motion around tumblelogs (or lifelogs) recently and I signed up at Tumblr to see what the commotion was about. Basically, a tumblelog is a personal aggregator with a blog style display. I’m normally an “I want to run my own” kind of guy, but I rather like having an external…

  11. Power Outlets

I don’t have enough power outlets at my desk. I’ve actually got enough active outlets for what I need at any one time1, but I’ve got a half-dozen or more devices that I use only occasionally (chargers, external drives, etc.). So while I’ve got enough outlets, I have to swap out what is plugged in…
