Every time I typed the word “as” into my iPad (and iPod touch), it would auto-correct to “A’s”. Drove me absolutely nuts!

Turns out it was using my Address Book as an auto-correct data source and I still had “Oakland A’s Tickets” in there from when I lived in the Bay Area.

I removed this entry from my Address Book, and that seems to have fixed it. Of course, if I’d wanted to keep that entry in my Address Book, this wouldn’t have been such a convenient work-around.

It seems to me that correcting an accurately spelled dictionary word to a word in a name in an address book may not be the right order of preference for an auto-correct algorithm.
