When “Just Works” Doesn’t

The problem with things that are supposed to “just work” is that they typically provide few options to resolve things that didn’t “just work”. I’m a fan of Dropbox and it is pretty smart about this with a nice revision history available through the website, however I currently have 3 machines with 3 unique versions of a file that will not get in sync.

I think my best bet is to create another version of the file and manually merge them on a single machine, then blow away the old file.

Also, the Dropbox app in my menubar is “stuck” and it doesn’t appear in the Force Quit list.1
