This past weekend I’ve been on East Coast time (in North Carolina). This is the third time in the past few months I’ve been on East Coast time for a few days. I kind of like being 2 hours ahead of local time at the office. For one thing, the stream of email is merely a trickle at this time of day.
Maybe I need to try rising early this winter and seeing how my productivity responds. Perhaps that is where I can find that couple hour window of development time.
I don’t really like to get up in the morning and especially not when it is dark outside. I have however experienced how productive I can be from 5 to 7 am when everyone else is asleep and now I can even get up at that hour in the weekends. Might sound crazy when you have no kids but I get so much done that it is almost surreal. I recommend it for productivity’s sake.
