It was 6 years ago that I first floated the idea of a generic icon for sharing¹ – I’m thrilled and amazing at how well this little icon has done. It’s great to see ShareThis going strong as well.

Above are a few screenshots I’ve captured over the years of the share icon in action. I wish I’d been more diligent about capturing more shots from some of the awesome places it’s in use.
