Hi Alex – I can fully relate to the feelings you wrote about. Seeing the ebb and flow of life in those around you can make you start examining your own place in life. I don’t look at it as a bad thing though. I feel it only helps us appreciate life even more.
By the way, thanks for all the plugins you’ve shared for WordPress. I use many of them on my own WordPress site.
When I was younger, I always said that when I died, I wanted there to be no more miles left. I wanted to be spent. To me it seemed if you had enough left to climb one more mountain, you should have climbed it.
That only works, however, if the end is abrupt. The reality is a gradual (sometimes unfortunately punctuated) decline. You don’t suddenly find yourself with an empty engine — you slowly wind down.
I suppose that still leaves room for some sort of “good fight”, but it’s surely not the glorious engagement I had envisioned.
