(Lack of) Accesskey Support in Camino

Posted in: Software

My main annoyance with Camino is that there is no ‘accesskey’ support. This is the ability to access controls on a web page using the keyboard. In tasks and photos I have a number of keyboard shortcuts to make it faster to use and navigate the applications. These don’t work in Camino, which I use as my primary browser on the Mac. There is already a bug in bugzilla for this so please go vote for it and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Have you found ANY browser with accesskey support (except IE I suppose)? I couldn’t get any combination to work with Mozilla or Safari either…

The standard Mozilla and Firebird both support accesskey on the Mac. Only Camino and Safari don’t of the Mac browsers I use.

    Accesskey Patch for Camino

A patch has finally been submitted that enables accesskey support for Camino!

Oh happy day! When a nightly is built that includes this patch, Camino will be the Best Mac Browser™, period! :)…
