Logitech MX Revolution Re-Connection Instructions

Posted in: Technology

I bought a second Logitech MX Revolution on eBay (refurbished) to have one at the office. Problem was, it didn’t seem to work when I plugged it in. Luckily Brian had already figured out the problem when he’d gotten his, so he was able to tell me to use a Windows box to go through the steps to connect the mouse with the USB dongle:

Impressive, no?

Of course, these didn’t work on the Windows box at all, but did on the Mac after a half dozen or so tries.

I also recommend SteerMouse (thanks Sean) over USB Overdrive for the MX Revolution as SteerMouse supports the little zoom button by the scrollwheel and USB Overdrive does not.

Crazy stuff, yes. It’s seriously the only problem I’ve ever had w/ my mouse. Worth it for such a good one. I highly recommend SteerMouse too.

A great recommendation. I’ve dumped Logitech’s buggy software for my mouse. I also have a wireless keyboard, any reccomendations on a keyboard driver so I can program these extra keys on it?
