I haven’t officially released WordPress 2.3 compatible versions of all of my plugins yet, but WordPress 2.5 is out nonetheless and brings some more plugin compatibility issues along with it.
I’ll try to get updated versions out soon – I’ll update this post with status as the plugins are updated.

Link Harvest breaks on my 2.5, worked on my 2.3. Plugin won’t even activate, gives error.
Old Post Alert activated and appears to work just fine.
404 Notifier threw a fatal error when I tried to activate.
Twitter Tools 1.1b1 has activated just fine, but I haven’t tested it.
I’ve got sharethis running (hard coded in theme) and 404 notifier via rss (didn’t set up email), and both made the transition without problem.
Hope they work on my blog well and saves you from any additional upgrading effort. 🙂
Thanks Alex, i am eagerly waiting for your plugins update, especially link-harvest to work again. My all time favorite.
Cheers and take your time!
I have Share This 1.4 on my WP 2.5 install and it seems to be working fine.
Popularity contest appears to work fine for me in 2.5.
Delink Comment Author doesn’t work, but doesn’t throw any fatal errors either. The comment admin screen has just changed too much, whatever it hooked into before is gone.
ShareThis 2.1 is working fine for me on WP 2.5.
Cheers
Tim
It seems like most of the broken plugins are due to the way categories are handled now.
I was able to update my Popularity Contest by changing tables and fields over to the new taxonomy ones.

Your Articles plugin works for me in 2.5 on my blog that I just updated this afternoon. I use the plugin to display a list of articles in my sidebar.
Twitter Tools is working for me on 2.5 however, Link Harvest has a fatal error when I activate it.
Glad I’m not the only one with the Link Harvest Activation error on 2.5
I tested the Link Harvest on 2.5, it seems the only part needed to fix is path ../../ to ../ at the start of the pluginfile. The same kind of fix worked with popularity contest.

What’s wrong with Popularity Contest? It seems to work fine for me.
Popularity contest works on my personal blog but won’t work on my blogging with cents blog. They are both the same theme with the same plugins. Not sure what’s going on there:(
Alex,
The Popularity Contest fix which advises us to change line 59 is not a good solution!
After the change I was able to activate plugin and it seem to be working only to discover today that inside plugins folder I have a rapidly growing error_log filled with these errors:
[31-Mar-2008 13:47:52] PHP Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘../wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/username/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/popularity-contest.php on line 59
So I think the issue is still here and needs to be addressed.
I never said it was, and it’s not the fix I’m using.
I’ve gotten Twitter Tools to work as well. Hope this saves you some time.
Alex; what is the fix you’re using for popularity contest?
When it’s done, I’ll release a new version.
Most of them work fine with me. Updating to 2.5 DOES however temporarily deactivate all your plug ins and makes you have to reactivate them one by one. Mine have been working fine ever since.
I’m just leaving this comment to leave a third confirmation that the Twitter Tools are working on WP version 2.5.
Alex: Great news! Any timeframe?
WP Grins works fine for me in 2.5.
I stumbled over this solution for Popularity Contest.

Twitter Tools working as expected on WP 2.5:

Grins doesn’t work in admin “write” panel 🙁
I hope you will fix it :P, thank you!
@Monz: Confirm. WP-Grins only works in commentarea but not in administration write panel.
WP-Grins gives a JS error in the RTE when you click a smiley:
tinyMCE.selectedInstance.repaint is not a function

The plain editor, which is also used for comments, does work.
Not surprising – TinyMCE is changed in WP 2.5. I’m going to close comments on this post as we’re starting to get a lot of repetition.
