After my several month dalliance with Sprint, T-Mobile and finally ditching AT&T for Verizon on my BlackBerry (my primary device), I am happy to report that I chose wisely.
I have not (yet) had the dreaded “Call Failed (beep, beep, beep)”, or a single dropped call since making the switch.1 Also, the network performance for data is faster than Sprint’s (or at least more immediately responsive).
I realize that all carrier satisfaction is local. If you’ve got great (your carrier here) service where you live and work, no need to switch. However for those who are constantly whining about AT&T’s dropped calls and lack of data coverage in the Denver metro area, there is an alternative!
Thanks to Corey, who’s been pimping Verizon for ages. I get it now.
- I even keep a call live through a dead zone between Arvada and Broomfield where I always dropped calls on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. [back]
Verizon also rocks here in Virginia. Coverage wise they can’t be beat (here).
AT&T is horrible and I haven’t had Sprint in years to know what they’re like around here. Most folks do seem to be Verizon or AT&T though.
I did suck it up and buy a new iPhone though. I mainly got it to use some of the Apps and it’s a nice WiFi device in my home. But if I’m traveling out of the Richmond, VA area I always make sure I take my Verizon Blackberry with me to be sure I can have a working device.
Further testament to Verizon, me and a bunch of friends take a bi-annual camping trip up on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere (we’re talking serious BFE here). Verizon phones get service, AT&T loses service about an hour away from the mountain.
Verizon is realy good choise, thanks for usefull post about it.
I travel extensively, going west to east and back of course… and I have tried and used different carriers over the years.. and Verizon has got my money more so than not… so I agree with AK Verizon is my choice at this point in time.
